Last weekend Kinloss celebrated the tremendous contribution that Rabbi and Valerie Mirvis have made to Finchley Synagogue since they joined the community in April 1996.
Kinloss held a special combined service on Shabbat morning , filling the Main Shul, to say farewell and thank you to the Rabbi and his family and enable him to give his last sermon as Senior Rabbi to the community.
It was a wonderful morning of prayer and reflection, culminating in a presentation of mementos from the children of Morasha School.
In the evening 400 people gathered for a seudah shlishit at which Valerie spoke “the final word”
On Sunday night the Shul organised a fundraising dinner to raise money for future Shul activities and to celebrate the Rabbi and Valerie’s time at Kinloss.
A commemorative Book was published for the evening to reflect on the Mirvis’ legacy for the Finchley community and we are delighted to make it available for members to download.
